DAY 1 LIMA
Reception in the Lima airport and transfer to the Hotel.(No meals)
Day 2 CUSCO
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport where we will take the
flight to Cusco, (airfare not included)
upon arrival Reception at the Cusco airport ; you will be taken to the Orquidea Real Hostal.
In the afternoon: Cusco City Tour From 1:15 p.m. Aprox
This tour includes the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral and
some other famous places like the famous fortress of Sacsayhuaman, then to Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
You will also receive a tourist ticket valid to many other sites you can
visit on your free time.
Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3 RAFTING FULL DAY
This section of the river is more intense with Adrenaline pumping rapids
Class III
on the Chuquicahuana section of the river we will include a safety Cataraft
or Kayak.
We will be meeting at 9:00 of the morning at the front door of our offices
located at Portal Confiturias 211 , Plaza de Armas Cusco.
Our private transportation will take us to our camping ground at "Cusipata
River Camp", were we can leave our baggage. Here you will enjoy , hot
showers, toilets , sauna and a comfortable dinning area.
Our Professional River guides will provide you with all the proper rafting
equipment such as helmet, wet suit, spray jacket ,paddle and self bailing
raft.
After a comprehensive safety talk you will drive 10 minutes more to Chuquicahuana them will running exiting class III rapids. You will spend
about two hours floating time , Afterwards, we drive back to CASA CUSI “
were a good warm lunch will be serve and you can enjoy a relaxing SAUNA.
Our return would be in the late afternoon . (B, L)

Day 4 / 8 : INCA TRAIL PRIVATE SERVICE
We start our trek escorted by native "quechua" porters going through
semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow
capped mount
Veronica, later going through Llactapata, an ancient Inca citadel that
protected the entry to two valleys. (B+L+D)
Kilometers walking: 12 Km. (Km.82 to Huayllabmba)
Altitude: Cusco (3400 m) - Chillca (2720 m) - Huayllabamba (2950 m)
Day 5: INCA TRAIL
Today the first part of the trek takes us to the Inca Hamlet of Huayabamba,
later going through Warmiwañuska pass (4200 mt), known as "dead woman's
pass". (B+L+D)
Kilometers walking: 12 Km. (Huayllabamba to Pacaymayo)
Altitude: Huayllabamba (2950 m.) - Pakaymayu (3600 m.)
Day 6: INCA TRAIL
Walking on a remarkably preserved Inca Trail passing ancient archaeological
sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth, later visiting the
Phuyupatamarca (city above clouds) with spectacular view of snow covered
Andean ranges, camping at Wyñaywayna, probably the most spectacular
archaeological complex during the trek. (B+L+D)
Kilometers walking: 16 Km. (Pacaymayo to Wiñayhuayna)
Altitude: Pakaymayo (3600 m.) - Wiñaywayna (2700 m.)
Day 7: INCA TRAIL
Passing through the Intipuncu (gates of the sun) , we arrive to Machu
Picchu, the lost city of the Incas, then late in the afternoon to
Aguas Calientes where we will overnight in a hotel. (B+L)
Kilometers walking: 5 Km. (Wiñayhuaina to Machu Picchu)
Altitude: Wiñayhuayna (2700 m.) - Machu Picchu (2400 m.)- Cusco (3400 m.)
Day 8: INCA TRAIL - CUSCO
Early morning rise and after breakfast we'll take a bus up to visit Machupicchu.
An optional hike for the more dynamic persons up to Huaynapicchu, the
pyramid shape peak that overlooks Machu Picchu.
In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco. Overnight at the
hotel. (B)
Day 9 : CUSCO - PUERTO MALDONADO
Transfer to the airport where you'll take the flight to Puerto Maldonado
(airfare not included).
Reception at the airport and transportation to the Wasai Maldonado Lodge,
where you will receive a welcoming tropical fruit beverage.
You will embark for a 3 to 4 1/2 hour motorboat trip up the Tambopata river
to Wasai Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box lunch on route).
During the trip we will be able to observe the local farms, while groups of
birds pass over the boat. Opportunity to see families of Capybaras, the
largest rodents in the
world. Reception, accommodation at the lodge, and lunch. After a short rest
we will have a brief introductory walk in the forest nearby to learn basic
principles of
ecology and hear some wildlife natural history.Return to the lodge for
dinner.
After dinner we will make our first visit to the forest to observe the
nocturnal life of insects, frogs of various colors, and an occasional
encounter with nocturnal mammals.
We will enjoy the diverse sounds of the jungle which will accompany our
first night in amazonia.

Day 10 MACAW CLAY LICK "COLLPA"
We will wake up early (4 am.) and travel up the Tambopata River for an hour
and half to the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park.
You will see a magical sunrise and it is a great opportunity to see animals
such as capybaras, tapir, Jaguar, and deer in the surrounding virgin forest.
We will observe (from a save distance) one of the greatest spectacle of the
rainforest: Hundreds of parrots, parakeets and macaws of varius species,
enjoying their diet
of mineral salts on a river bank. We will have a hot drink and a snack
whilst watching birds and go for a short walk to look for animals such as
monkeys.
We will return to to the lodge to have a late breakfast, and rest.
After lunch we will enter the verdant jungle on a special trail to observe
wild life.
We will then enter the territory of peccaries, deer, and others, with the
possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of
monkeys traveling through
the forest in search of food. Time permitting, we will be able to enjoy a
relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat.
After dinner we can make another trip through the jungle, search for caimans
or relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal sounds. (B,L,D)
Day 11 LAKE SANDOVAL
After breakfast we will make a trip in boat to the Wasai Maldonado Lodge, in
Puerto Maldonado where we will relax in our bungalows and enjoy a tasty
lunch.
After lunch we will leave and travel for twenty minutes on the Madre de Dios
River, to the access trail to Lake Sandoval, a beautiful typical rainforest
lake. 5 km. hike to
the banks of the lake. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake
enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as
kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds), monkeys,
etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live at
the lake.
We will have the opportunity to fish piranhas and swim in the lake. Prepare
yourself for a spectacular sunset.
It is time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to return to
Puerto Maldonado.
There we will stay at Wasai Maldonado Lodge.
After dinner we will be able to rest or go around the city on foot or on
bicycle.
We can enjoy the pool and its cascade surrounded by verdant vegetation. Rest
of the night free to enjoy the night life of this welcoming city. (B, L, D)
Day 12 : PUERTO MALDONADO - LIMA
After an early breakfast we will return to Puerto Maldonado for our flight
back to Lima (airfare not included).
Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. ( B )
Day 13 TRANSFER OUT
After breakfast, transfer to the airport where you will take your
international flight. ( B )

IMPORTANT NOTE OF INCA TRAIL

*Reservations need to be done two months prior to arrive to Cusco.
Nevertheless take note there is a limit of visitors per day so I suggest you
to book the trip as soon as possible to guarantee your spots.
*Remember to take your original passport and isic card on the inca trail
because without them you are not going to be able to do the hiking and take
only
the necessary items for the trek,the rest of your luggages you can leave it
at your hotel in Cusco (most of hotels and hostals has an storage where to
keep until your return)
* Participants need to be in good physical health and condition to be able
to enjoy the Inka Trail. The trekking will be difficult if you have not
exercised regularly before
your trip. To fully enjoy an Inka Trail adventure, we advise passengers to
get into an exercise program for their own safety and enjoyment. If a
passenger suffers from
any medical condition, we advise him/her to consult a physician about
joining an Inka Trail Expedition. |
