DAY 1 LIMA
Reception in the Lima airport and transfer to the Hotel Santa Cruz (or
similar) located
in Miraflores, Lima .Depending on the arrival time of your international
flight we will have the possibility of an optional visit to the gold
museum ( not included in the rate )
DAY 2 PUERTO MALDONADO
Transfer to the airport where we'll take the flight to Puerto Maldonado, (
AIRFARE INCLUDED ) upon arrival from Lima, greeting at the airport
and transportation to the WASAÍ
Maldonado Lodge, where you will receive a welcoming tropical fruit
beverage. You will embark for a 3 to 4 hour motorboat trip up the
Tambopata river to WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box
lunch on board). During the trip we will be able to observe the local
farms, while groups of birds pass over the boat. Opportunity to see
families of Ronsocos, the largest rodents in the world. Arrival in WASAI
Tambopata Lodge & Research Center. Reception and accommodation at
the lodge in rooms with private bathrooms.
We
can check the surrounding woods or cross the river to visit the Gato
Waterfalls, where we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in a
"natural jacuzzi". Return to the lodge for dinner.
After
dinner we will make our first visit to the forest to observe the
nocturnal life of insects, frogs of various colors, and an occasional
encounter with nocturnal mammals. We will enjoy the diverse sounds of
the jungle which will be our companion in our first night in Amazonia.

DAY 3 MACAW CLAY LICK "COLLPA" AND
SANDOVAL
We will wake up early (4 am) to drink a coffee or hot drink
and leave for the Macaws Clay Lick "Collpa" in El Chuncho in
the Bahuaja- Sonene National Park. We will travel up the Tambopata river
(or "Bahuaja" in the local dialect) for an hour, and we will
observe, if there is a convenient weather, from a safe distance one of
the greatest spectacles of wildlife: tens of parrots and macaws of
various species, get together at dawn to have their diet of mineral
salts on the clay wall. It is an experience that you will never forget.
After we will walk along the river banks looking for animals footprints
while we have a fruit snack and we will return to the lodge to have
breakfast and rest.
It
is time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios river to return to
Puerto Maldonado. After lunch we will leave and travel for thirty
minutes on the Madre de Dios River, to the access trail to Lake
Sandoval, a beautiful typical rainforest lake. 5 km hike to the banks of
the lake. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying
the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as
kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds) ,
monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we will see the family of giant otters
which live at the lake. We will have the opportunity to swim in the
lake. Prepare yourself for a spectacular sunset.
It
is the time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to
return to Puerto Maldonado. There we will stay in the modern and
comfortable bungalows of WASAI Maldonado Lodge. After dinner we will
have the opportunity to rest or go around the city on foot or on
bicycle. We can enjoy the pool and its cascade surounded by verdant
vegetation. Rest of the night free to enjoy the night life of this
welcoming city (B, L, D)
DAY 4 PUERTO MALDONADO - CUSCO
After an early breakfast we will return to Puerto Maldonado for our flight
to Cusco, ( AIRFARE INCLUDED ) upon arrival reception and transfer to our
Orquidea Real Hostal , followed by a few cups of mate de coca, whilst you
iron out any questions you may have with us. Rest of the day at leisure in
order to become acclimatized with the altitude. (B)
DAY 5 CUSCO CITY TOUR
At 13:45 you leave on the Cuzco City Tour. This tour includes the major
sites of historical interest in Cuzco, such as the famous Inca fort at
Sacsahuaman, and the temple of the Sun. Also included in this is a tourist
card, giving you access to all the sites in the Cuzco area as a whole
(i.e., including outside of the City itself) This tour finishes at 18:00.(

DAY 6 INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU (4days 3 nights)
We start our trek escorted by native "quechua" porters going
through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent views
of snow capped mount Veronica , later going through Llactapata ,an ancient
Inca citadel that protected the entry to two valleys (L+D) DAY 8 Inca
Trail
Today the first part of the trek takes us to the Inca Hamlet of
Huayabamba, later going through Warmiwañuska pass (4200 mt), known as
"dead woman's pass". (B+L+D)
DAY 7 INCA TRAIL

DAY 8 INCA TRAIL
Walking on a remarkably preserved Inca Trail passing ancient
archaeological sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth , later visiting
the Phuyupatamarca (city above clouds) with spectacular view of snow
covered Andean ranges, camping at Wyñaywayna , probably the most
spectacular archaeological complex during the trek. (B+L+D)
DAY 9 MACHU PICCHU
Passing through the Intipuncu (gates of the sun) , we arrive to
Machupicchu the lost city of the Incas, complete guided tour, then late in
the afternoon train back to Cusco to the Orquidea Real and
overnight (B)
