DAY 1 LIMA
Reception in the Lima airport and transfer to Carmel Hotel (or similar)
located in Miraflores, Lima. Depending on the arrival time of your
international flight, we may have the opportunity to visit the Peruvian Gold
Museum (not included in the rate).
DAY 2 PUERTO MALDONADO
Transfer to the airport where we will take the flight to Puerto Maldonado (airfare
included). Upon arrival from Lima, Reception at the airport and
transportation to the WASAÍ Maldonado Lodge, where you will receive a
welcoming tropical fruit beverage. You will embark for a 4 hour motorboat
trip up the Tambopata river to WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box
lunch on board). During the trip into the heart of the rain forest we will
be able to observe clouds of butterflies, typical Amazon communities , while
groups of birds pass over the boat and animals such as capybaras turtles and
caiman. Reception and accommodation at Wasai lodge.
Introductory walk to understand rainforest ecosystems and see some of the
amazing trees . Return to the lodge for dinner.
We will enjoy diverse sounds of the jungle which will accompany our first
night in the amazon. Sleep in the lodge.

DAY 3 MACAW CLAY LICK "COLLPA"
Wake early (4.30 am) and travel up the Tambopata River for an hour to the
Bahuaja- Sonene National Park. You will see a magical sunrise and it is a
great opportunity to see animals such as capybaras, tapir , Jaguar, and deer
in the surrounding virgin forest. We will observe ( from a savedistance) one
of the greatest spectacle of the rainforest: Hundreds of parrots, parakeets
and macaws of various species, enjoying their diet of mineral salts on a
river bank. We will have a hot drink and a snack whilst watching birds and
go for a short walk to look for animals such as monkeys.
We will return to the lodge to have a late breakfast.
We will then have an Ethno botanical trekking through one of the trails. We
will enter the territory of peccaries, deer, and others, with the
possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of
monkeys travelling through the forest in search of food. Lunch . In the
afternoon we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat.
After dinner we can make another trip through the jungle or search for
caimans.(B,L,D)
DAY 4 PUERTO MALDONADO - CUSCO
Breakfast and transportation to the airport to take the flight to
Cusco(airfare included) . Upon arrival, reception and transfer to our
Orquidea Real Hostal or similar , followed by a few cups of mate de coca,
while you ask any questions you may have about the tour, etc. You may spend
the rest of the day as you please in order to become acclimatized to the
altitude. (B)
DAY 5 CUSCO CITY TOUR
At 13:45, you will leave for the City Tour of Cusco. This tour includes the
major sites of historical interest in Cusco, such as the famous Inca
fortress at Sacsayhuaman, and the Temple of the Sun. Also included in this
is a tourist card which gives you access to all the sites in the Cusco area
as a whole (i.e., including outside of the City itself). This tour finishes
at 18:00. Overnight ( B )
DAYS 6-7-8-9: Beginning of the "Inca Trail" the most famous trekking of
South America, following Bingham's footsteps.
Included: Bus service until Km. 82, entrance ticket to the Inca Trail,
professional English and Spanish speaking guide during all the trekking,
tents, carriers, breakfasts lunches and dinners (as explained below),
complete Machu Picchu's ruins tour, train ticket back to Cusco, look at the
Inca Trail sectional view.

IMPORTANT NOTE OF INCA TRAIL

*Reservations need to be done two months prior to arrive to Cusco.
Nevertheless take note there is a limit of visitors per day so I suggest you
to book the trip as soon as possible to guarantee your spots.
*Remember to take your original passport and isic card on the inca trail
because without them you are not going to be able to do the hiking and take
only the necessary items for the trek,the rest of your luggages you can
leave it at your hotel in Cusco (most of hotels and hostals has an storage
where to keep until your return)
* Participants need to be in good physical health and condition to be able
to enjoy the Inka Trail. The trekking will be difficult if you have not
exercised regularly before your trip. To fully enjoy an Inka Trail adventure,
we advise passengers to get into an exercise program for their own safety
and enjoyment. If a passenger suffers from any medical condition, we advise
him/her to consult a physician about joining an Inka Trail Expedition.
PARK REGULATIONS
The Inca Trail is part of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, a protected area of
32,592 hectares, managed by the National Institute of Natural Resources,
INRENA. Every visitor must obey park regulations prohibiting littering,
cutting or damaging trees, removing or damaging stones of ruins and the
Trail, removing plants, killing animals, lighting open fires or camping in
the archeological sites (Only authorized campsites can be used).

DAY 6: Pick up at your hotel. We start our trek escorted by native
"quechua"
porters going through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with
magnificent views of snow capped mount Veronica, later going through
Llactapata, an ancient Inca citadel that protected the entry to two valleys.

DAY 7: Today the first part of the trek takes us to the Inca Hamlet
of Huayabamba, later going through Warmiwañuska pass (4200 Mt), known as "dead
woman's pass". (B,L,D)
DAY 8: Walking on a remarkably preserved Inca Trail passing ancient
archaeological sites covered by dense jungle overgrowth, later visiting the
Phuyupatamarca (city above clouds) with spectacular view of snow covered
Andean ranges, then Wyñaywayna, probably the most spectacular archaeological
complex during the trek. (B,L,D)
DAY 9: After an early breakfast we will Pass through the Inti Punku (Gate
of the Sun), we arrive to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas, we'll
take a guided tours of the citadel, then in the afternoon train back to
Cusco, lodging at Orquidea Real Hostal or similar . (B)
