Day 01 Lima Reception in the Lima airport and transfer to the Carmel Hotel or similar located in Miraflores, Lima. Depending on the arrival time of your international flight, we may have the opportunity to visit the Peruvian Gold Museum. (not included in the rate). Day 02 Chiclayo / Chachapoyas  Early in the morning transfer to the airport where you'll take the flight to Chiclayo (airfare included). You will be picked up upon arrival and you will depart from Chiclayo by private car/bus with air conditioning. You will arrive in the late afternoon in Chachapoyas. Box lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Hostel El Chillo. (L/D) Day 03 Chachapoyas After breakfast, you will enjoy an excursion by horse to visit the colorful funeral buildings of Revash perched on a ledge up high on a cliff. Box Lunch. Then, you will continue to Leimebamba to visit an amazing collection of pre-Inca mummies discovered in the Laguna de los Condores. (B/Box lunch/D) Day 04 Chachapoyas After breakfast you will visit Kuelap, a spectacular pre-Inca walled city hidden atop a precipitous mountain. Although Kuelap was discovered 60 years before Machu Picchu, it is not as well-known to the outside world. Nevertheless, recent discoveries in nearby areas that relate to Kuelap and to its history have captured the attention of archaeologists, international magazines and film companies. Box Lunch. Following your visit to Kuelap, you will return to Chillo for the night. On the way there, you will have the opportunity to stopover to observe the burial towers of Macro, an outpost of the Chachapoyas culture built into cliffs overlooking the Utcubamba River. It's unique location allowed for contact via signal fires with the fortress; it is located high above in the mountains and is only visible through a cleft in the valley hills. Dinner and overnight at Hostel El Chillo. (B/Box lunch/D) Day 05 Chachapoyas Morning trek to Chachapoyas burial towers of Macro. Free afternoon for relaxation or optional tour (at extra cost) to Karajia and the mysterious Sarcophagi carved into the hillside. (B/L/D) Day 06 Chachapoyas/Chiclayo After an early breakfast, you will return to Chiclayo by road. Box Lunch included. Late afternoon arrival and transfer to Hotel Las Musas or similar .Overnight (B,Box lunch) Day 07 Chiclayo Full day tour visiting the highlights of Chiclayo : the tomb of the Lord of Sipan (the richest tomb discovered in the Americas), the Valley of the 26 pyramids of Tucume and Bruning Museum where there is an interesting collection of gold artifacts and ceramics. Lunch included at typical restaurant. Overnight at Hotel Las Musas or similar in Chiclayo (B,L)  Day 08 Trujillo Early morning departure to Trujillo by private car. On the way, visit the San Jose de Moro site museum. Lunch at Pacasmayo. After arrival at Trujillo, transfer to Sun and moon temples. Overnight at Hotel Los Conquistadores or similar(B, L) Day 09 Trujillo Full day tour that includes a visit to the colonial city of Trujillo, the amazing adobe city of Chan Chan (Capital of the Chimu empire) and Huanchaco beach where fishermen still surf in totora reed boat as their ancestors did in ancient times. Lunch included. At appropriate hour, you will transfer to the airport to take the back flight to Lima, (included) overnight at the Carmel Hotel or similar. (B,L) Day 10 Transfer out Transfer to the airport where you'll take your international flight and end of the services (B) COMMENTS: The above trip can easily be extended to Machu Picchu and Cusco. We have already included in it in our large trip section which features the above schedule combined with a classic visit to Machu Picchu and Cusco.
